In the last two articles, we travelled to Top beautiful places in South India and West India. Now, here I come with the most beautiful places to visit in North India. Well, North India is mainly famous for its Himalayan Ranges but not every hillside can be beautiful as these places I came up with.
North India comprises of 7 states – Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. The state Rajasthan shares to zones of India i.e. the West and North. As we have already talked about Rajasthan in our last article so, I may ignore it but trust me, it’s beautiful too if you love Desert Safaris. Let’s tie our seat belts and start our journey –
Places to visit in North India – Leh Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir
Dream place of every biker to go for road trips. So hire a 2 wheeler and follow the map. Obviously, take your driving license and passport (if not from India). Get yourself to Magnetic Hill, Pangong Lake, Chadar Trek, etc.
Places to visit in North India – Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir
If you love ‘skiing’ or other snow sports, Gulmarg is your place. Visit Kongdori, Shark Fin, Apharwat peak, Frozen Lake, Khilanmarg, etc. have a majestic view of nature. Especially, meadow of flowers that proves its name.
Places to visit in North India – Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir
The real crown of India. The beauty and the charm of nature prove it to be the crown of Kashmir. Lolab Valley takes the limelight and gonna make your day. For sightseeing, you can go to Kheer Bhawani Asthapan, Hazrat Mehmood Shah Shrine, Shaloora Shrine.
Places to visit in North India – Amritsar, Punjab
Experience the most unique culture of Punjab. You can directly land at Amritsar Airport and book either a hotel or stay at ‘Saraha’ a gurudwara’s stay. Just hire an E-rickshaw or rickshaw to Jallianwala Bagh. Though it will leave near it, not infront of it as they are not allowed. After Jallianwala Bagh it would be 5minute walk to Sikh pilgrimage Golden Temple have some bath in the Holy Lake of the gurudwara, have the holy langar(lunch) from Langar Hall inside the gurudwara. From Gurudwara again hire a cab for Wagha Border.
Wagha Border is shared by both India and Pakistan. Army personnel performs a march and tributes the freedom fighters. This is a must-see show in Amritsar.
Places to visit in North India – Pathankot, Punjab
Pathankot shares its boundaries with Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh. You can say its a meeting point of 3 states. So, the beauty of the 3 states makes it a scenic, a place from your dreams. You can also visit some of the historic places like Shahpurkandi fort, Nurpur fort, Mukteshwar temple etc.
Places to visit in North India – Paris of Punjab, Punjab
The place is known as Paris of Punjab, Kapurthala. It is believed that first Sikh Guru Nanak Dev was enlightened here in 1499. You can visit some of the tourists’ attractions of historic place:
The Jagatjit Palace, Panj Mandir, State Gurudwara, Moorish Mosque.

In the suburbs of Dharamshala in Kangra District, there’s a trek place named as Mcleodganj. You can visit the Bhagsu Falls, Triund, Tsuglagkhang Complex, Dal Lake, Minkiani Pass etc.

The place is named after the name of Lord Dalhousie – British Governor-General. The trip is not recommended for being peaceful but also for Kalatop Wildlife Reserve, Dainkund Park, Ganji Pahari, Panchpula, Chamera Lake, Garam Sadak, Subhash Baoli, Sach Pass.

How about a place that allows you to trek and camps, also gives you waterfalls to enjoy. It’s around 120 minute car travel from Dehra Dun, and 60 minute travel from Mussorie. If you’re looking for some unusual attraction then don’t forget to visit Potato Farms.

Go on a jungle safari during the summer season. Due to landslides and avalanche-prone area the site gets closed during rainy season and winter season. You can also enjoy the pilgrimage visits at Ramnagar.
Places to visit in North India – Chakrata, Uttarakhand
One of the old towns of Uttarakhand, Chakrata. You can visit this hillside for the best view of snowfall. But be cautious you can become a victim of slippery roads.
Places to visit in North India – Nainital, Uttarakhand
One of the most beautiful places to visit in Uttarakhand. The mountain ranges of Himalayas creates an eye across the lake. You can enjoy a beautiful view of lake rafting, especially the sunset view of the hillside.
Places to visit in North India – Auli, Uttarakhand
Auli, Indian Singapore. It would be best if you visit here, November to January. You can visit the place anytime throughout the year but if you like Winter sports then this would be your time.
Places to visit in North India – Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh
Varanasi, Kashi or Banaras are holy cities of states, country located on the bank of River Ganges. So, in these holy cities, you can visit Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, Jantar Mantar, Ramnagar Fort, Ghats of Gange. Don’t miss the eve pooja of Gange.

The pride of India, the seven wonders of the world is located here in Agra. Yes, I am talking about the symbol of love – Taj Mahal. Places to visit in North India – Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh
One of the oldest and holy cities in the world. The name of the city is also mentioned in one of the holy books of Ramayana. After a long dispute on Ram Mandir, it’s a must visit place. You can also visit Ramjanma Bhoomi, Kanak Bhawan, Nageshwar Temple, Hanuman Garhi, Gulab Bari, Treta ka Thakur.
Places to visit in North India – Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh
Again one of the oldest cities, the city is known for Hindu deity Krishna and Radha. The city will not take you to time travel but also, get you to the chores of Indian Culture. You can visit Akshaya Patra, Keshi Ghat, Seva Kunj and Nidhuban, Prem Mandir. If you really want to this place then visit this place at the time of Indian Festival Holi.

It is believed in every 12 years the three rivers of India – Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati meet and this meet is celebrated with great zeal as Kumbh Mela. And the tradition of this celebration is 2,000 years old which makes it a must visit.
